MISSION STATEMENT:
The Purpose of the Metropolitan Washington Dachshund Club (MWDC) is to:
Urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as adopted and promulgated by the Dachshund Club of America and approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Dachshunds shall be judged.
To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike conduct at dog shows, field trials and other events.
To conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows, obedience trials and field trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
To educate members and the public in all aspects of responsible Dachshund ownership.
